Celebration overshadowed by defeat

Universitatea Cluj's Women's Basketball team lost at home to Phoenix Galați by a score of 69-56 in the 23rd round of the national league.

 
The girls were outclassed by their opponents from the very start and throughout the first half, building a comfortable lead (13-24, 10-14). "U" came back in the 3rd quarter (26-19), but to no avail as their opponents won the 4th quarter (7-12).
 
"U"'s top scorer was Judit Kajdacsi once more with 20 points and 26 rebounds, while Phoenix's top scorer was Denise Fairbanks with 15 points and 9 rebounds.
 
Following this game, CS "U" stayed in 12th place with 26 poins while Phoenix stayed in 9th place with 31 points.
 
Next week, "U" will play at home against CSM Tărgoviște.
