Recently, Universitatea Cluj's official site announced details regarding their winter training. The team will get back to work on Monday, January 12th and will have their first training session of the year at 14:00. The first week of training (January 12-18) will be held in Cluj and the rest of the club's midseason training (from January 19th to February 6th) will see Ogăraru's players train in Antalya. 

The club also announced their upcoming friendly fixtures during their stay in Turkey. The schedule is as follows:

1. Szombathelyi Haladás' youth team – January 22nd;

2. Servette Geneva (Swiss 2nd division) – January 24th;

3. FC Shinnik Yaroslavl (Russian 2nd division) - January 26th;

4. Szombathelyi Haladás (Hungarian 1st division) - January 28th; 

5. Cernomoreţ Odesa (Ukrainian 1st division) - January 31st; 

6. Wiener Neustadt (Austrian 1st division) - February 3rd; 

7. Guizhou Renhe (Chinese 1st divison) - February 5th.

During the winter break, Universitatea released Dan Bucșa,  Saşa Stojanovic, Nicolae Muşat, Vladimir Niculescu and Karim Boutadjine. Geoffrey Castillion (23 years old), who has previously played for RKC Waalwijk, Heracles Almelo, NEC Nijmegen, New England Revolution and Ajax Amsterdam, signed a one and a half year contract with "U". The young Dutch striker also played for the Dutch U17, U18, and U19 National teams and managed to score for each one.
