Universitatea Cluj drew their home match against AFC Botoșani by a score of 0-0 in the 22nd round of Liga 1.
The match started with an injury to Patache following a duel with Mengolo. Neag and Lungu weren't able to convert Ceppelini's crosses following corners in the 8th and 21st minutes, respectively. Grozavu's players replied through Vasvari whose shot was held by Universitatea's Greek goalie in the 14th minute. Martin's crosses in the 35th and 45th minutes weren't converted by Lemnaru, who headed the first wide of goal and was defended well by Curileac for the second. After the first 45 minutes plus the 5 minutes of injury time, the score was 0-0.
The start of the second half saw Oltean foul Mengolo in the box, which the referee saw and gave "U" a penalty. Ceppelini took the penalty, but put it over the bar in the 54th minute. Bordeaianu's effort in the 63rd minute went over Universitatea's goal. Lemnaru had a weak shot from 16 meters out in the 80th minute, which Curileac held. In injury time, Panagopoulos held Ivanovic's shot (90+3') and Curileac caught Ceppelini's cross (90+4'). It is worth noting that in the last 15 minutes of the game, Martins had to play injured follwing a hard tackle from an opponent given that Universitatea had used all of their substitutions. The final whistle from the referee sealed a 0-0 draw.
Veselovksy was unable to play for Universitatea this match due to a lingering injury. Ceppelini saw his 4th yellow card of the season and will serve a one-match suspension in Universitatea's next match. Transylvania's team have now gone 5 league matches and 1 cup match without scoring a goal.

The "Red Caps'" next match will be on Monday, March 23rd at 20:30 when the students will play away to CSMS Iași in the 23rd round of Liga 1.
