Universitatea lost their match away to Petrolul Ploiești in the 31st round of Liga 1 by a score of 1-0.

The first chance of the match came in the 4th minute when Nepomuceno's shot was held by "U"'s goalie. The "Red Caps" reply came quickly through Jovanovic 2 minutes later when he missed a great chance to open the scoring. Petrolul had three more chance through Filip (9th minute), Nepomuceno (12th minute), and Marinescu, but Veselovsky made some excellent saves to stop Petrolul from going in front. As a result, the halftime score was 0-0.

The home side broke the deadlock in the 53rd minute when Ipsa took advantage of a mistake made by Veselovsky by scoring for the home side. The "Red Caps" tried to equalize through Morar, but his shot from outside the box in the 86th minute was held by Pecanha. The final whistle from Rusandu sealed a 1-0 win for Petrolul.

Škvorc is the only player on "U"'s roster who has played for more than 2000 minutes in this season of Liga 1 (2054 minutes as of this match). Škvorc, Cristocea, Ciupe, Viveiros, Jovanovic, Costin, Munteanu, and Bamabara will serve a suspension if they see another yellow card. 

Falub's players' next match is on Monday, May 18th at 20:30 when they will face Astra Giurgiu at home in the 32nd round of Liga 1.
