Universitatea Cluj's men's basketball team got thier 3rd win in the 2nd division out of 3 possible yesterday afternoon. Carmin Popa's players won away from home by a score of 71-66 (after overtime) against CSU Cuadripol Municipal Brașov.

 
Because of these wins, "U" ended the first half of the season in 1st place, but this isn't very important to the coach: "These wins in the first round aren't as valuable to us because, unfortunately, the promotion system was changed once again. Instead of a 2 legged tie followed by a final, there will be 2 2nd leg ties and the top two from each division will advance. We have two important games against Miercurea Ciuc and Asesoft, both of which we need to win given that we've worked so hard to get here," Carmin Popa explained to the official site.
 
Up next for CS Universitatea Cluj on March 7th is a home game against BC Perla Harghitei Miercurea Ciuc and another aginst CSU Asesoft Kaproni Ploiești at home, to be played at a later date.
