2015-03-24 22:32:10
Universitatea Cluj lost their match in the 23rd round of Liga 1 away to CSMS Iași by a score of 2-0.
The start of the match saw Panagopulos save Golubovic's shot from the middle of the box (6'). The black and whites' reply came a minute later as Viverios and Lemnaru both hit the crossbar. The 27th minute saw "U"'s Greek goalkeeper make a save with some difficulty as the ball fell to Ciucur after Golubovic couldn't get a touch on it. The home side broke the tie in the 38th minute when Mihalache headed Enescu's cross into the back of the net. Napoli's team hit the post 5 minutes later through the very same Golubovic. The last minute of the first half saw Morar's shot following a blocked free kick get deflected just wide for a corner.
Gravenberch came on for Mengolo at halftime and got right into the game as he crossed for Lemnaru in the 46th minute, who headed it straight at Grahovac. Onduku missed a great chance in the 50th minute as his shot following a poor save from Panagopoulos went just wide. Six minutes later, the home side doubled their lead through Golubovic, who took advantage of Panagopoulos running off his line. The final whistle referee Gaman sealed a 2-0 win for the home side.
Universitatea has now gone 540 minutes in Liga 1 without scoring a goal. Jovanovic saw his 4th yellow card and will serve a one match suspension. After 23 rounds played, "U"'s players have seen a total of 69 yellow cards - an average of 3 per match. A little less than 30% of the goals that the "Red Caps" have conceded have come in the last 15 minutes of the first half (9 goals out of a total of 30).
Falub's players' next match is on Wednesday, April 1st at 21:30 when they will play the second leg of their Romanian Cup semifinal at home.
