Universitatea Cluj narrowly missed out on qualifying for the Adeplast League Cup Semifinals as Ogăraru's players lost a penalty shootout 2-3 away to Dinamo București in the Quarterfinals. The score was 0-0 after full time as well as after extra-time.

In the first ten minutes of the match, the home side tested Dolha as Bilinski's header was held by the away side's keeper in the 6th minute and Boubacar's shot in the 10th minute went just wide. Mengolo targeted Marc's goal in the 13th minute, but his shot went narrowly wide in the end. The best chance of the first half came through Ceppelini, whose shot from 16 meters out in the 23rd minute went wide of the net. The rest of the half saw Bărboianu attempt two crosses in the 21st and 29th minutes unsucessfully while Lemnaru and Cristocea both missed chances to break the deadlock in the 37th and 44th minutes, respectively. 

After halftime, the Red Caps had a number of great chances to score. Lemnaru's shot in the 60th minute was right at Marc, Ceppelini shot over the bar from 16 meters out in the 69th minute, Stojanovic's flick trickled just wide out of bounds in the 78th minute, and Nuno Viveiros put it wide from 7 meters out in the 79th minute. Stojanovic had another chance to score in the 87th minute, but his shot was well saved by Marc. The final whistle after 90 minutes marked a scoreless draw. 

In each 15 minute half of extra time, both teams were cautious and didn't take many chances. Shots from Elton and Petre in the 105th and 113th minutes, respectively, went over Dolha's goal while Kovacs's shot in the last minute of extra time was saved by the home side's keeper.

After the penalty shootout, Dinamo won the match by a score of 3-2. Ceppelini and Kovacs scored for Universitatea while Costin, Stojanovic and Škvorc. Dinamo's goals came through Matei, Elton, and Lazăr while Nedelcearu and Boubacar both missed.

The students will be on vaction until January 2015 when, according to George Ogăraru, they will train in Turkey. The schedule for their mid-season training outside of the country will be announced soon.\
