In the first round of men’s basketball regular season, “U” Mobitelco BT defeated at Brazi, near Ploiesti, last year’s runner up, Asesoft Ploiesti, after extra time, final score 95-97, by quarters 18-22, 16-15, 24-16, 25-30 and 12-14 in extra-time.
The host team’s starting lineup included Vlahovic, Szijarto, Jones, Căpușan and Burlacu. On the other side, the starters were Morris, Chetreanu, Dykes, Silvășan and Krstanovic.
At the end of regulation, the score was 83-83. Six seconds before the end, when Asesoft was leading 83-80, Krstanovici made a three-point shot and sent the game into extra-time.
