In the first 17 rounds of the 2014-2015 edition of Liga 1, both of Universitatea's managers - Mihai Teja and George Ogăraru - used a total of 30 players, 13 of whom are foreigners. 

The three players with the most minutes played for Universitatea so far are Emil Ninu (1415 minutes), Nicoale Mușat (1336 minutes) and Dan Bucșa (1075 minutes). "U"'s center back who wears "29" missed only one match (in the 12th round against Viitorul) due a yellow card suspension. Ninu played every minute in 15 matches this season while he was subsituted off the field in the 8th round against Universitatea Craiova in the 65th minute. 

In regards to players with the fewest minutes played, Vlad Morar (8 minutes), Doru Bratu (25 minutes), and Florent Sauvadet (28 minutes) have played the fewest minutes for Universitatea so far this season.

As the season progressed, the club released three players (Ionuț Tărnăcop, Emil Jula and Florent Sauvadet) and loaned Andreas Calcan out to CSM Rămnicu Vălcea in the 2nd division. The end of 2014 saw Dan Bucșa and Karim Boutadine leave the club; the former, "U"'s former captain, has signed with ETO Gyor in the Hungarian first division.
