Instat calculated an index for each player that played in the first half of the 2014-2015 season that assesses their performance in the first 17 rounds of the season. Based on these indices, a ranking for each position was compiled.

In the ranking for goalkeepers, Universitatea is represented by Robert Veselovsky who's in 12th place with an index of 198. In total, he had 33 saves and 46 punches following crosses. The Slovakian goalkeeper had an average of 24 passes per match of which 9 were passive and 15 were constructive. It's worth noting that "U"'s number 33 had a higher index than Stanca (Pandurii Târgu-Jiu), Bălgrădean (CS Universitatea Craiova), and Pleaşcă (Gaz Metan Mediaş).

In regards to their defensive line, the "Red Caps" have 6 defenders in the rankings for 3 different kinds of defenders: left, right, and central. Universitatea's defenders' performances are as follows:

1) Nicolae Constantin Mușat is in 17th place out of 24 in the ranking for left backs with an index of 188; he averaged 47 passes per match, 12 duels per match, 2.9 tackles per match as well as 4.1 interceptions per match; 8 recoveries per match; 8 balls lost per match and 7 balls won per match;

2) Petar Jovanovic is in 13th place out of 27 in the ranking for right backs with an index of 193; he averaged 52 passes per match; 16 duels per match; 2.8 tackles per match as well as 4.1 interceptions per match; 8 recoveries per match; 10 balls lost per match and 9 balls won per match;

3) Raul Axente Ciupe is in 17th place out of 27 in the ranking for right backs with an index of 185; he averaged 48 passes per match; 16 duels per match; 4.7 tackles per match as well as 6 interceptions per match; 9 recoveries per match; 12 balls lost per match and 9 balls won per match;

4) Emil Ducu Ninu is in 25th place out of 54 in the ranking for center backs with an index of 192; he averaged 50 passes per match; 14 duels per match; 2.3 tackles per match as well as 6 interceptions per match; 9 recoveries per match; 6 balls lost per match and 10 balls won per match;

5) Dino Škvorc is in 36th place out of 54 in the ranking for center backs with an index of 186; he averaged 43 passes per match; 14 duels per match; 1.6 tackles per match as well as 3.9 interceptions per match; 9 recoveries per match; 3.7 balls lost per match and 10 balls won per match;

6) Ioan Neag is in 43rd place out of 54 in the ranking for center backs with an index of 181; he averaged 45 passes per match; 12 duels per match; 3.7 tackles per match as well as 3.8 interceptions per match; 8 recoveries per match; 3.5 balls lost per mtach and 7 balls won per match.
