One of Universitatea's weaknesses so far this season has been creating attacking moves as Universitatea is 2nd to last in the league in regards to average number of attacking moves per match. "U"'s average of 87 attacks per match is only greater than Oțelul's 81. Pandurii Tărgu-Jiu has the greatest number of attacking moves per match with an average of 106. 

Most of Universitatea's attacking moves came from positional play (59). "U" had another 17 moves from counterattacks and the other 11 came from set-pieces. In comparison to other teams in Liga 1, Universitatea managed the lowest number of counterattacks as well as one of the lowest numbers of attacks from positional play.

In regards to shots per match, Ogăraru's players are 15th in the league with an average of 11 per game. Pandurii Tărgu-Jiu are first in this category with an average of 18 while only Oţelul Galaţi (10), Rapid Bucureşti (10) and Ceahlăul Piatra-Neamţ (9) had less shots per game than "U". 

Universitatea is in 7th place for passes per match with an average of 451 attempts and 356 completed passes, good for a completion rate of 79%. Breaking down the types of passes (short, medium, or long range) reveals that "U" mostly attempted and completed medium range passes (327 attempts; 268 completions). The "Red Caps" averaged 83 short pass attempts (and 66 completions) as well as 39 long balls (of which 22 were completions) per match. [

Universitatea averaged 32 passes in the box, 12 of which were completed. In regards to decisive balls, "U" averaged 7 per game. An average of 4 out of 7 were completed.
