Universitatea Cluj lost their home match in the 18th round of Liga 1 against ASA Tărgu-Mureș by a score of 0-3.

The match started out evenly until Colțescu showed Gravenberch a red card for a foul on Hora in the 21st minute and gave a penalty, which N'Doye converted to put the away side up 0-1. Tărgu Mureș dominated the rest of the half as N’Doye (34’), Hora (35’), and Mureşan (45’) came close to doubling their lead.

The second half started with Ceppelini crossing for van der Boerk, who's header was held by Stăncioiu (49'). The away side continued their assault on Panagopoulos' goal as Bumba (60’, 67’, 69’), Voiculeţ (66’), and N’Doye (71’) all missed chances to put Tărgu-Mureș up 2 goals. In the 76th minute, Bumba finished off Voiculeț's cross, which saw Panagopoulos have to take the ball out of his own net once more. In added time, Colțescu incorrectly gave another penalty to ASA after an alleged foul by Škvorc on Hora, who converted the penalty to make the score 0-3. 

Universitatea started the match with 9 foreigners and only 2 Romanians - Costin and Lemnaru - in their starting eleven. The match against Tărgu-Mureș marked van den Borek, Zijler, and Castillion's debuts. Next match, Ogăraru won't be able to play Gravenberch (suspended for his red card) as well as Mengolo, who will serve a one match suspension for his 4th yellow card.

The "Red Caps"'s next match will be on Saturday, February 28th at 20:30 when Ogăraru's players will play away to Dinamo București in the 19th round of Liga 1.
