In the 17th round of Liga 1, Universitatea Cluj faced Oțelul Galați in a match at home that finished as a 0-0 draw.

After a little rain before the match, the home side tried to go for all three points by playing three up front: Lemnaru, Gravenberch and Mengolo. The first notable chance of the game came when Cristocea's well taken free kick was saved by Hotoboc in the 11th minute. Mengolo (in the 8th, 17th, and 26th minute) and Gravenbergh (in the 18th minute) also tried to score, but to no avail. 

The start of the second half saw Ogăraru's players continue their assault on Oțelul's goal. The first chance of the half came in the 52nd minute when Mengolo's shot along the ground was parried away by Hotoboc. Lemnaru also had a good scoring chance in the 64th minute, but his header was saved by the away side's goalie once more. Oțelul frightened the home fans in the 67th minute when Jula's shot from 6 meters out hit the crossbar. Raul Costin's free kick 9 minutes later was held once more by Hotoboc. The final whistle from Chivulete sealed a draw for both sides.

Stojanovic and Gravenberg both saw their 4th yellow card of the season this match and will serve a one match suspension in Universitatea's next match.

On Saturday, December 6th, Universitatea will face Ceahlăul Piatra-Neamț at 15:30 in the 18th round of Liga 1 - the last of the first half of the 2014-2015 Liga 1 season.

Before the match against Ceahlăul, Ogăraru's team will face Pandurii Tărgu-Jiu at home on Wednesday, December 3rd at 15:30 in the Quarterfinals of the Romanian Cup.
