During the break in the season, ucluj.ro managed to have a word with "U" Jolidon's playmaker, Andreea Tetean.
ucluj.ro: Let's start with your beginnings...
AT: From a young age I was energetic and restless, so my parents took me to gymnastics in 1st grade. After this I wanted to
play a team game and I wanted to choose between volleyball and handball, the two choices at my school in Bistrița. At first I
played volleyball because I played it from time to time behind my apartment block. My mom talked with the coaches and the decision was made: I would play handball. My first time around the sport was "love at first sight." I had a great coach, who was like a father to us and knew how to make us love the sport, which we did. I couldn't wait for each practice and to play in each game. slowly but surely the results came, especially during high school, after which I came to Cluj.
ucluj.ro: Why did you come to Cluj?
AT: Cluj is the capital of Transylvania. My sister was already here at college as well as my brother, plus Cluj is a great city. Now, part of my family lives here, all my friends are here, in other words I can say that I feel at home in Cluj. I love Cluj, its a great city that has a lot to offer, from a tourist's point of view as well as sports.
ucluj.ro: How did you settle into Cluj?
AT: I suffered a serious accident that kept me off the field for awhile, but with a lot of work and perseverance I was able to come back and help my team as much as I needed to.
ucluj.ro: What do you think of the upcoming games in the league?
AT: We're a rebuilding team, we have many new teammates, who are slowly but surely getting integrated into the team. I hope we'll surprise some people and get as high as possible in the league, and if possible, get into the top 3. It's going to be hard, but we hope to keep getting results.
ucluj.ro: What's your take on the game against Cankaya Ankara in the EHF Cup?
AT: We're going up against a Turkish team that we don't know much about, but we hope we'll go far in the cup. We give it our all and we hope the fans will support us as they've always helped us tremendously when they've been at the games. In tough moments I can say that they're an important factor for us as they push us forward. I want to thank them for their support and ask them to continue supporting us because we'll only win together.
ucluj.ro: What do you want next year?
AT: All I want is to be healthy and to help my team as much as possible.
