Universitatea Cluj's women's handball team defeated HC Dunărea Brăila in a match in the 17th round of the season that finished 25-24.

From the start of the match, the students held the lead, which was 15-11 at the half. "U" managed to extend the lead to as many as six goals, but the away side managed to cut the deficit to 1 goal towards the end of the match. The last minute saw the game tied until the fans became the "8th" man and Laura Popa scored the game-winner in the last 10 seconds of the match.

The team was overjoyed at the end of the match as shown by Ana Maria Măzăreanu, who cried tears of joy as she embraced her team. Măză was the player of the match as she saved 5 penalties and had several key passes. 

"U"'s scorers were Laura Popa with 7 goals, Cristina Laslo with 5 goals, Magda Paraschiv, Florina Chintoan, and Corina Biriş with 3 goals each, and Abigail Vălean and Andreea Tetean with 2 goals each.
